I'm sitting under a beach cabana in Jamaica and thought I would share my morning with you. I'm here shooting a wedding and whenever I'm somewhere tropical, I always feel the urge to get up early and watch the sunrise.
I've also been considering implementing "Miracle Morning" habits into my everyday routine. I first heard about this practice 4 years ago from one of my best girlfriends and old business partner Rachelle Taylor of Prairie Yogi. This morning ritual has come back into my life through Jana Williams, one of my mentors, fellow photographer and super babe out of Los Angeles. I have a few morning rituals of my own, but nothing as structured as the "Miracle Morning".
Oprah Winfrey, Tony Robbins, Marie Forleo, Kris Carr all rave about morning rituals, how they increase productivity and quality of life. I'm not entirely sure if I want to commit to waking up every day as early as I did today, but what I can say is that I accomplished so much before 10am and it felt so damn good.
5:15am Woke up to watch the sunrise over the ocean.
5:35am Sunrise (epic) + meditation/gratitude
6:15am Finished reading "The Power of Vulnerability" by Brene Brown
7am Light yoga session on the pier
7:45am Breakfast (coffee, mango, pineapple waffles, eggs benny - these buffets are dangerous)
10am Went over wedding day timeline for tomorrow's beach celebration!
SO. Do you guys have a morning ritual or practice? I love to chug a big glass of water in the morning and think of at least 3 things, big or small, that I'm grateful for in that moment. It's a really nice way to start the day. Leave me a comment and let me know what kind of positive morning habits you incorporate into you life!
