MY PHOTO JOURNEY: PHOTO 101 COURSE WITH Monique Pantel

Ten years ago I bought my first DSLR camera. I walked into Future Shop, handed the sales guy $600 and asked, “What’s the best that would get me?”

I wanted to take beautiful photos.

I walked out of that store with an expensive camera and no clue how to use it.

That camera sat in my desk drawer for a year.

Every once in a while I’d turn it on, the buttons set to automatic and click a few photos.

Disappointed because the photos felt flat, lifeless. I was frustrated because the manual was impossible to navigate.
Back in the drawer it went.

I’d turn to Pinterest, searching “how to use your DSLR”.

Blog posts would start off exciting and quickly lead me to a point I could no longer follow. I didn’t have that exact camera.

Lost, confused and defeated. Again, back in the drawer it went.

Through trial and lots of error. Grit and grind. I taught myself.

And then guess what?

I became a professional photographer. I travelled the world telling stories with my camera and the photos I could produce.
And then guess what else?

I started teaching photography.

And then guess what?

My students started to become professional photographers.

Wild, right?

Photo 101 is the MOST transformative photography course that teaches you how to use your DSLR or Mirrorless camera.

I remember how frustrating it is to try to learn photography.

I, too, was a newbie - many moons ago.

I taught myself and along the way, became a world renowned photographer.

And for the past 6 years, I’ve been empowering women, teaching them how to use their cameras through this course that I’ve created: Photo 101.

From frustrated - to freak-ya! I’ll teach you how to use that expensive camera that's sitting in your closet.

Maybe your camera is 8 years old.

Maybe you've used it twice.

It doesn't matter if you don't even know how to turn it on.

This course, Photo 101, is for you.

Here’s what students are saying about Photo 101…
